Default Paddle shifter developed

Hi, ive developed a flappy paddle gear shifter for the mitsubishi fto. I was wondering if it would be suitable for the scion tiptronic models?

All thats required to fit it is an aftermarket steering wheel and boss, it works by RF wireless so no messy wires to run from the steering to the receiver.

On the fto the paddles mount between the steering wheel and the boss with the RF transmitter hidden away inside the boss. The receiver is then wired into the tiptronic switches using 4 wires and 2 wires for power so very easy to hook up.

Here's some pics of it installed to my car -

and here's a shot of my car as it stands at the moment, bonnet and front bumper are carbon fibre that are about to be half painted -

Would there be much interest in this product? Would cost around $300 + shipping

In Welsh

The nice part next to England

You do need an aftermarket steering wheel and boss to fit, not having an airbag isnt a problem, gives you more incentive not to crash!

Looks good, but how responsive is that RF connection? The tC is already drive by wire, which has a minor "lag" ... I don't think any sort of wireless connection would really benefit that.

The transmitter signal is good for about 300ft, in the car its travelling around 2 or 3ft. You wont notice any additional lag whatsover.

What speed do Rf frequencies travel at? quite a bit quicker than our cars whatever it is.

If anyone wants to take the plunge and be the first to fit I'll offer a discount price. Someone with a little electrical knowledge would be preferable.

Basically wiring wise its just splicing in 4 wires to the tiptronic microswitches then just 2 wires for power the reciever and thats it.

I can't see how this would work..
IPT sells a Shift Box for use with a lot of Cars, and when I contacted them about buying one for tC's, they said they couldn't do it..

If when you put the car in tiptronic mode, if its electronically operated via microswitches for shifting up and down gears my system should work fine as basically all its doing is remote mounting the switches via wireless transmitter.

Can you put the tansmission into manual mode and shift up and down like mine? On mine I push the gear lever to the left then I can shift up and down manually pressing the gear lever up or down.

in most cars with this type of setup, it is just a slow shifting slushbox with electronically operated shifters.. so still an auto rather than an dual clutch setup. The Mazda 6 is like this .. and you can take a nap while it is shifting

But in either case, the auto tC doesnt even have that mode anyway.

Yeah, our tC's don't got it.. That's why I was so interested in a Shift Box, I've seen 'em in Eclipses, they're awesome, pretty much just locks the gear up..
