Polishing My Head!!!
Ok... Thanks to my friend Tim and his friend I didn't have to pay anything. I got lucky and am thankful!. I got Megan Headers. Man I did notice a good increase in everything, I don't even have a bad rasp problem and I'm not even muffling anything. These are great! Sounds so much more powerful too might Id add.
My only problem is that the stainless steel finish has its share of oxidation or what ever you want to call it.
Would I be risking the finish by really giving it a good rub down with a fine steel wool pad and then using metal polish on it?

Suggestions?
well that isn't a head first off...it's your exhaust header. i'm not too sure about this one. I've polished stainless before with a product called never dull. I wouldn't use steel wool on it tho. I think that might put scratches in there that you don't want. you aren't going to harm anything by doing it but make sure you clean off whatever you use really really well. If not, it's gonna burn off the first time you drive the car and it may end up tarnishing the pipes more than the oxidation and it may be permanent.
Wet sand with soapy water and 2000grit sand paper. And wear gloves and wipe with acetone or rubbing alcohol after installation to remove oil left from fingers etc. And don't let anyone touch the thing once its installed. I have pics from when I cleaned up my header I bought used but I don't know where they are are the moment.

Do I have to powder coat my valve cover If I want to paint it with that duplicolor 1500 degree gloss black engine paint? Or do I go about it the same way as painting anything els? Im a Painter and all so its no problem I'm just not sure if I need to have it powder coated.
