It'll make it breathe better. On an otherwise un-modifed car I don't think you would see too much extra HP. But it's one of those things that would be a great backing mod for power upgrades down the road.

will it increase my redline? so if i was going through the job like its best to get larger pistons? im not for forced induction anymore..... high compression

No, a P&P won't increse the redline, that's up to the ECU I believe. So you already have high comp pistons installed?

these 2AZ's aren't like a honda engine. They can be more likened to a v8. instead of having no torque down low and having to rev high to make power, these engines have a lower redline and make power in the low end.

redline isnt everything

To raise the redline you are going to have to upgrade your valvetrain with heavier springs. It has nothing to do with the ECU although to use the higher redline you will need to have the rev limiter removed. Check Dezod out...

$198.80

SCION TC COMP PLUS VALVE:35mm/INT (EA)

=$1,652.45 and one hell of a N/A engine with an RPM limit of maybe 7000-7500RPMs.

What do u gusy think. Could this parts be found cheaper? or of better quality?

i dont think it would yield too much without forced induction of some kind. Even with the ported head and upgraded valvetrain, the power would die off quickly. With boost though, power could be built right up to redline.

Your ECU has the redline to protect your engine, it is a safety issue thats why it is there so you don't rev it until it blows. Valvetrain components have a lot to do with it but isn't the main way to raise your redline, but is necessary to be upgraded so there isn't a risk of valve "floating" (i.e. where the spring is too weak and leaves the valve out longer than its suppose to which can cause many problems, one being hitting the piston.) Then it also has to deal with stroke, the bigger the stroke you have, the more torque you can have. But this also comes at the price of a lower redline. Think of diesel engines, that have such a long stroke and such huge components that they can't have a redline over 3/3.5K or so. You can't just simply lower the redline and gain torque What I would like out of the tC is 7500 RPM, best of both worlds, yes I would lose some torque I am sure because I would have to reduce the stroke, but I would have a much longer powerband to work with. This is my goal in the next few years, and to be force-induced :D

I think I'd rather do the ZPI stage 1 head package. It's way cheaper.
