Default Problem fixed...Feel free to lock mods...

Okay so i drive a 08 N/A A/T tc. Just over 30,000 miles. I have a header back exhaust and an intake. I have a CEL from the header. This all started when after i filled up one day. I use shell gas btw. I started the engine and it started burbling and the RPMS kinda bounced around...like it wanted to die or something. Then it started happening at cold startups. It would do that for like 20 seconds then the rpms would jump to like 1000 rpms plus...almost as if to say "AHHh i can breathe okay we can go". Now its starting to hesitate like while im driving. Like if im at a stop light and ive been sitting there for a bit.. i give it some gas and it'll literally like creep foward STUCK at like 1500 rpms and im LIKE OMG GOOOOOOO!!!! It will then lunge me foward..almost like something was holding it back.

My first thought was spark plugs. SO i go to toyota to get some new ones..and hes like BAHHh these plugs are sposed to last 100,000 miles you should let us look at it no way your plugs are fouled. heres where the prob lies.. MY DEALER freaking SUCKS. they take FOREVERRRRR and i dont have the time. So i wanna take it some where else..but i guess the point of this post is to see if anyone else has experienced this? Im angry cuz my car is new and i need it to work well cuz im goin off to school and BAHHH!!!!

Try to carefully clean the MAF sensor, with MAF sensor cleaner see if that frees her up.

take it to autozone or advanced and get scanned for your cel, you already know you have it on for the header but there may be something else thats wrong and that cel from the header is keeping you from knowing. Autozone usually scans for free and will give you the printout of the code and usually a discription of what the code means. Hope this helps

No i do not have that. Sorry man i was unclear. My o2 sensors were siezed onto the factory header and spipe and they couldnt get em off. They said i needed to order new ones and Toyota wants to butt charge me for them like they do for everything so i said **** it im jus gonna run with a CEL. Bad idea apparently. I took them to the shop to see if they can get them off. If they cant get them off i will just buy yours rose. Man im so angry dude...

uhhhhh well that is the problem right there, the car has no idea what the motor is doing to accomidate for lean or rich mixtures.......get the sensors in there, probably gonna need a new cat on the mid pipe too,get a CEL fix,at this point you are trashing the car driving it like you are with no sensors.....always do the job right the first time or it costs more money to fix errors than it is worth......

Thanks Bzinn. I feel so retarded bro...but why would i need a new cat on my midpipe? I still got the stock one. My set up goes like this..Header>spipe> factory cat>custom exhaust piping and muffler.

if the car has ran rich with unburned fuel it will clog up the cat on the midpipe and greatly reduce flow of exiting gasses.......may be why you have just now started to get the huge issues coming up with it stalling out and such even more........

Hey it happens, search the local junkyards for the sensors, leave your stock ones where they are so you can swap it back with out issue if needed in the future.....junkyard will sell a set of sensors if you pull them for cheap, under $50.

Muffler shop can weld a bung ontothe header for $20......it is fixable, may take time to find partsgoing to part store or dealership for the sensors is about $350.....

Okay so the shop was able to get the sensors off the factory header and s pipe. Put them on my set up and the car runs BEAUTIFULLY! Amazing. Like...brand new even. I almost cried lol. They said my cat and all that should be okay. Its the first time my car has been CEL free in forever. AHHH im so happy. MODS feel free to lock this up..
