Default Putting back stock midpipe back on.. need input

well, this is for a friend.. but it's currently raining and his stock midpipe was in the backyard and got soaked so we brought it into his garage and wiped it up as much as can. it's pretty much rusted all over exterior-wise.. but inside the pipes, it looks pretty clean. he currently has a custom midpipe and a dc header on his tc and he wants to go back stock.. his only concern is the stock midpipe "going bad". so he wants to know if switching to his stock midpipe will cause any damage? he thinks there will be water stuck in the stock cat.. and perhaps some rust in the cats.. so just chime in if you know, thanks!

if theres any water in the it will blow out when you start it. next time you take it off, tape the ends off so you dont get crap in there.

sounds cruel, but how funny would it be to see a chipmunk or something fly out the tail pipe when you start it up lol jk

uhm...it's a pipe...so long as the brackets and hangers are still in solid condition, it should be fine. it just directs evacuated exhaust gas from the engine under the car, it can't really hurt anything.

lol, it sounds funny but if you put parts like that out in your back yard for a long time, animals and bugs start making a home out if it.
