how come all the exhaust i see are axleback

Just how the tC is. Though an axle back for the tC can be considered a cat-back if you want to get technical.

Sections of exhaust:

Header (with cat) -> S Pipe -> Mid Pipe (with cat and resonator) -> Axle Back

So there are two cats there... and there is one in the mid pipe that the axleback bolts to.

 

would it be louder thou w/o the resonator on the mid pipe?

 

Probably, but I wouldn't recommend taking it out... unless you're replacing it with something custom.

yeah, i just installed my megan midpipe and it made a VERY noticeable difference in the tone of the exhaust. its alot louder from the outside from what i've been told on the people that i've passed by but from inside its barely noticeable.

 

i actually want a loud one but dnt you actually get pullover for having a TOO loud exhaust?

 

Depends on where you are... and seeing that you're in CA... ya... you'd probably get pulled over ALL of the time. CA sucks.
