Quiestest Exhaust Setup
I know there was a topic recently that talked about this but the question wasnt answered directly. The first question. What would be the best way to get the quietest exhaust setup that would give a little performance but at the same time sound sporty but with "low volume".Example.An Infiniti G35 stock sounds sporty on acceleration and revving but at the same time it does it at a decent "volume".It doesnt get too loud so that it gets annoying, bothersome or cop attracting. What would be the best way to achieve the lowest volume using:intake,headers,s-pipe,cat and 2 resonators plus an aftermarket muffler?Which of the aftermarket axlebacks sounds lowest?Second question.Would it be wise or stupid preparing an axleback with an G35 OEM muffler?Would I get even a bit of sporty sound or would it sound terrible coupled to a full exhaust setup?Could it affect the flow characteristics of a custom exhaust in negative way?Ill apreciate your help in this matter.
Search around for the threads of people who use the Precision Muffler Axle Back that stylis makes, nice tone not too much volume! As for the G35 a tC is not an Infinity and that 6 cyl will give a different note no matter what, I feel you though if I could get my ride to sound like the new 350z or G35 just by changinge the muffler out I'd do it too... If you add a CAI or header both parts will increase noise as well, Increase in power usally increases the noise as well.
i like my greddy sp2. i would want it to be a bit deeper though. i was going for a quiet exhaust cuz i do a lot of daily driving and dont want to hear droning in the cabin the whole drive. with the sp2, no droning and when doing highway driving, sounds completely stock. at acceleration you start hearing it at around 2700-3000 rpm. so far i think its the best performing quiet exhaust, even with header and intake. i experience little to no rasp and i have the AW header.
i find the aftermarket systems i have heard have too small a muffler, im not an exhaust expert, but this worked on my chevy truck with flow masters.......the larger the muffler the quieter it got, i went from a 2 chamber up too a 3 and it made a huge difference, im sure if someone was to make a larger muffler set up i would assume the same would hold true...
when i went to get my resonator put on the shop guy said the same thing.
i left my stock on mine...and its very quiet, i have found too that most systems are not worth the money (too me) for the noise issue and the HP gains are not that exciting either.....
