Random Engine Cut Off
Hello everyone, fairly new here. I’ve got a 07’ and yesterday I was having some fun with a Civic and just after we went our separate ways my car just completely cut all power.. I took off from a dig. Fully sent it from 1st to 2nd and right after almost hitting redline it just cut all power. There was a lot of tire spin, but from my understanding the TC doesn’t come with traction control and it is honestly scary. I’ve only had the car for a little over a month. Got it with 67k almost at 70k now. All i’ve done to it is put a sound system in it. Ive got a 800w sub and a 400w amp going to all 4 door speakers. I don't think that it would affect the car to be honest, but perhaps im wrong? Haven’t had any issues and the engine has hardly consumed any oil. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful thanks!
You don't mention if it's a one-time thing or if all has been 'normal' since your big race. If I had to guess, and based upon your just having installed stereo equipment, there's a bad ground somewhere that sounds like it's affecting a major circuit.
I'd start my search there.
