My tC is in for service today, getting a rear wheel bearing replaced. I'm lucky I bought the extended warranty! Has anyone else experienced problems with their wheel bearings already?

 

I'm around 78k on my 2005 and so far so good. Which is nice b/c my warranty expired about 3k miles ago.

 

how did you diagnose it? its typically a problem that goes unnoticed, especially in the rear.

 

What mods did you have? Bigger wider wheels in a non-stock offset, coil-overs, etc? I ask because some mods could contribute toward what might be deemed premature wheel bearing failure, but if you're stock then it's most likely just a bit of bad luck.

 

yup, had a front drivers side bearing go out at 48xxx miles

 

damn thats got me scared. i running 9.5 wide 35 offset, a bit of camber, and coils.
