Default Rough starting

Weather's been getting much nicer in my area this week. Like 70-80 when I go out and start my car for the first time that day and it starts much rougher than it usually does. Only been 3 days, but should I worry at all? Use 5w-30 synthetic, 64k miles. Fujita CAI. Could the intake just not be sucking air as well when it's hot like this since it's heavier?

have you pulled your spark plugs and checked them? 64k would be the time to do that, no matter what people say about toyota claiming "100k miles for plugs) yeah right.

others will ask have you changed gas stations recently? but im thinking look at the plugs first.

Definitely planning on getting some NGK Iridium IX series plugs soon so that'll be outta the way. I definitely just get gas where I'm at when I need it. Maybe 3-5 different stations - BP, Sheetz, Shell, & Giant Eagle Get-Go mostly. Would that really make a difference? Never thought of it.

never know could have some bad gas from one of those gas stations. older gas stations sometimes have moisture leakage into the tanks. They're supposed to monitor it but who really does their job the right way, lately?

The other thing to try before you pull the spark plugs out is pouring a can of BG product's 44k fuel cleaner into the fuel tank, fill up, run that through, then get an oil change and change the plugs. that way you could clean out and junk that's accumulated after 60k+ miles. Usually about every 15k is when I usually run the fuel cleaner through.

Oh and to clean the maf sensor too, that can affect idle. I was tired last night when i posted that other info, didn't think of all these other fixes. And yeah it's all cheap priced, $20 for the BG 44k, $5 for the MAF sensor cleaner.

Actually cleaned my MAF sensor last month. Had a CEL from dirty intake filter so I cleaned that when I cleaned the filter. MAF sensor cleaner is nice for sure. They've used BG in my car (can't remember if it was fuel or engine treatment) @ the dealership before. So the 44k is a specific cleaner for the fuel system...Also, can I buy it only at the dealership? I thin BG is toyota only. I refuse to go to no-name dirty gas stations, but you're absolutely right - who knows when the moisture leakage was actually checked last.

Thanks for the help =)

yeah you should be able to get a can of 44k without having to pay labor for it. LOL. I think you know how to pour that into your gas tank without training ;) lol

BGprod.com is their website, not toyota only, they do all automotive brands.

hey you're welcome, post up when you try all that and see what was the problem happy to help!
