Hey guys I was wondering if anyone eles has a ScanGuage II with Add-a-Guage/X-Guage and has tried out the HorsePower guage. Check this out: http://www.scangauge.com/support/horsepower.shtml . I wonder how accurate it actually is. I havent been driving my car too hard too often lately because of the cold and wet weather. But a few weeks back it was sunny and dry with a slight chill and on this one strech of road by my house it said I got up to 171 hp. I'm pretty sure numbers calculated on the ScanGuage are at the crank but still if 171 is accurate I'd say thats not too bad considering my only mod is a DC Sports Header. Thoughts and opinions?

okay wow I know this is a dead thread and all but I have to bump it because anyone who cares enough to read this will really get a laugh. I was out earlier for some spirited driving and I set one of my scanguage's perameters to display the horsepower guage. As I drove around it was producing numbers that I thought seemed belivable. However once I got to my back road, a long straigt a way, I decided I needed some full throttle time :-). I was in second gear with the throttle fully depressed and when I hit 6k I clutched in to shift. As I was shifting I glanced at my scanguage and saw that the horsepower guage read 214hp!!!
I just threw it in neutral and coasted as I burst out laughing. Unless a CAI with 4-1 headers and stock exhaust is the secret formula for power in the tC, I'd say thats pretty good proof that its pretty inacurate.

i was hoping it would at least be a ballpark, around 20 +/- but 214 on just headers and exhaust is way off lol, im gona check it out though

 

Yeah Ace I was hopin for the same thing. It's always seemed somewhat accurate before, though I dont use it that much. idk maybe it was just a fluke but either way, 214? really?
But yeah try out yours and post the results
