Default Scion tC Short Shifters

I have compiled a current list of manufactured Short Shifters produced for the Scion tC. I am currently in the market to buy one. Please feel free to post your thoughts and opinions. What SS do you own and how has your experience been so far?

This stylized precision shifter includes many of the key features found in race shifters including a stainless steel stick assembly, a CNC machined aluminum base and a machined aluminum pivot ball. All of this combined with a simple straightforward installation provides a professional level shifter. PERRIN Performance short shifter - around $179.99
The PERRIN Performance short shifter gives the driver full control over shift length, **** height and positioning. The revolutionary design allows quick and easy, infinite adjustment of shifter throw from 0 to 200% shorter then stock. PERRIN performance has become the leading choice for tuners because of its ability to adjust **** height and position. Tuners can bring the **** towards or away from the driver for a custom grip placing the shifter in the optimum position for performance driving. All steel construction makes this shifter virtually unbreakable. May be used with the stock shift **** or upgrade to the PERRIN Performance shift ****. For this fitment our design team has produced a unique sliding adjustable pivot ball allowing the user to custom tailor shift throw, **** height and horizontal positioning. Once installed the shifter rod can freely move within the pivot ball allowing the user to tune the short shifter characteristics from the driver seat. Move the shift **** up or down. Forward or backward. Toward the driver or away. All of this and a shorter throw.

Does anyone know what metal the TWM shifter is made of?

I'm wondering what advantages/disadvantages of having a heaver steel shifter compaired to a lighter aluminum shifter, since weighted shift ***** are supposed to help the shift throw engage better.

the stage one retains the factory hieght and only shortens the throw by 25% i think atleast it might be less then that

Just wondering, i just bought my twm stage 2 short shifter from a person used, and i was wondering what all is needed to complete this installation as in what came in the box?
And what parts would i need to buy?
And is the "special tool" necessary, cause i dont think he will have everything in the box?

thanks

Given our history on this board, I'll preface this by saying I'm not making this a personal attack

How did you come to that conclusion? Did you try multiple short throw shifters out, or did you just try the TWM and decide that you liked it so much, that it must be the best? I'm trying to be objective about this. Was there any comparisons on your part?

I got my CC shifter, and after installing it, I test drove a few other cars that had the B&M, and the TWM. I can definitely tell you that the CC is a shorter throw than the TWM. the CC is a little more stiff as well (makes sense since the CC has a different pivot point).

For me, my preference is for a very short throw, short height, and very crisp tight shifting. I feel that I have the best shifter out there for my preferences, having tested the competition, but I also know that not everyone shares my preference.

Default B&M

I am interested in the B&M shifter but it only lists the 2004-5 tC models. I have a 2009, is there any difference between the years for shifters?
