Default secondary cat......keep it or not?

Does anyone know the size of the exhaust at the secondary cat. Ive read somewhere that its 2.5 but i know that the rest of the pipeing is 2.25.

I want to get a high flow cat and a magnaflow resenator put in to finish my exhaust.

Do you think it would make a huge difference to eliminate the second cat all together?

Current mods; Injen intake, mmw header, magnaflow exhaust.

the secondary cat has nothing to do with check engine lights. the car wont even notice it gone. its kind of pointless. i say get rid of it and youll have more space for resonators.

just remove all the exhaust and go straight pipe with no cats, i've got megan and it looks like it has a cat but it doesn't. just save your stock pipes for smog time. its all bolt on bolt off

The stock 2nd cat is 60mm o.d. inlet/outlet (made in Japan = metric). 60mm = ~2.36". If you're getting a hi-flow cat go with 2.5", they flow better than 2.25". Follow the cat with a 2.5-to-2.25" reducer then a 2.25" resonator; a 5" diameter will fit. An exhaust shop can do the work if necessary, just bring them the parts.

Also if you already have a header and delete the 2nd cat be prepared to stink out yourself, your passengers, and everybody else around you.

If i run a straight pipe the way im set up now i wouldnt be able to hear myself fart it would be so loud!! HA HA HA!! jk. I want it to sound deeper but not rice sounden, thats why i went with the precision muffler aka magnaflow axle back.
I am lucky here in WV.......... dont have to worry about smog test.

Thanks

Ive been looking around at some custom exhaust shops. I might get a custom exhaust w/ high flow cat and the biggest res i can get from magnaflow (maybe 6 round and 28 in. long). Or maybe just cut the old out and weld the new in......not sure.
I will see about the full custom exhaust prices first.

This was what ive benn lookin for in a reply thanks for the info Mid_Life_tC-risis
