Default Shifter cage install problems

So I received my Doctor Isotope's GearSwitcher Extreme today and referred to the directions on his site about how to remove the shifter cage. They're the same direction for the TRD Quickshifter. They mention in the directions about turning the lock nut 180 degrees counterclockwise to remove the shifter cable. This nut will only move 90 degrees. It seems to be catching on the sides of the cage.

I looked at the blank cage I received and it looks like those nuts are just held in by pressure. I haven't put too much force into just trying to pop them out cause I don't want to bend one of my shifter cables.

This is the guide I was referring to: http://www.doctorisotope.com/yahoo_s....235214009.pdf

If anyone has any suggestions please lemme know.

Thanks.

you need to make sure you fully release cable lock and turn and while holding nut 180 just pull and it should release..

You can do everything you need to do with the cage in the car, without removing those cables, I've done a few and I have never had to remove the cage assembly, too much of a hassle if you ask me.

i just put in my doc isotope gearswitcher extreme about a month ago. mine was also hard to turn past 90 degrees but it will. its some sort of spring in there. i think it actually goes past 180 degrees. then while holding at 180 degrees i pryed it off with a screwdriver. it was pretty hard but i was determined to switch em out. lol
