Skipping a beat

Skipping a beat
Hey guys
I just bought an '07 TC last week and I've noticed that while going about 80 mph randomly it will skip a beat. Idk if that makes sense, but maybe to some of you it does? At first it was just at high speeds in 5th gear, but two days ago it started doing the same thing at low speeds, especially in 2nd.
I don't think the clutch is slipping, because it doesn't rev high before it catches again.
I've got a code 0445 evap leak detected. Bought a new gas cap yesterday and problem still exists.
Could the two be related?
Or is it an issue with the power train?
Car has 187k miles
Any thought greatly appreciated, thanks

I'd start by checking/changing the spark plug (might be the originals in there). Beyond that, there are many things that can cause an intermittent misfire. It may need some diagnosing work to find out for sure. Other possible causes include: vacuum leak, crank and cam position sensors, coil packs & injectors.
