Default Smoother Idle w/ CEL??

I'm almost positive it's a suction issue. Happened once before after driving for 6 hours over 2 days in the rain. Could feel the suction/power loss. Took CAI filter off, cleaned/dried it, and CEL was gone. Have an '06 tC 60k miles and a Fujita CAI. Happened again today (no water on road at all, or noticable loss of power). Usually have a slightly rough idle @ about 500 RPM's. Vibration worsens with A/C or rear window defroster on. However during these 2 CEL instances the idle sits at about 750 RPMs and it's smoother than I can ever remember. Stays just as smooth with rear defroster on (didn't try A/C). Have an injen water shield on it, but there's still a hole in my bumper right in front of the filter.

THanks in advance

the water shield thing...doesnt prevent wanter from entering the intake...its not water proof. it just reduces the chance. aside from that, i have no idea what youre asking. youre saying your idle is smoother with a CEL? but you pretty much realize its a suction issue from your intake thats causing rough idles?

the smoother idle might be just because it's at a higher RPM. I recently put motor mounts in and noticed the vibrations at 500-600ish are a lot more intense than what they were before, but when it idles up to 750-1000 the vibrations are gone.

You're right I was kinda vague on exactly what the question was... Was just trying to get some feedback maybe. Just confused a little because before the intake and after the intake install the idle was a little bit rough. Now I can even turn on the rear defroster and A/C and nothing vibrates. Mayyyyybe because less suction = engine idles faster to get proper air to fuel and since it's higher than what's spec on the car, plenty of power is given to everything that would make it rough

I'mma genius. Thanks for your help guys =)

when i had my old ETD in i always wished there was a way to bump up the idle about 100rpms as it solves the vibrations issues.
