Stiff Clutch
Hi, i have a '06 bsp 5-spd, and i just recently realized that my clutch's stiffness is not normal. This is my first stick car, and no one in my family knew how to drive it, and my friends didn't either. So, i just went on the internet, read, and did a LOT of trial-and-error, mostly ending in errors. My first few weeks with my car was not friendly for my clutch at all. But, i never knew how a normal clutch felt like, and i had been driving around for a bout a year and a half before one of my friends said "OMG MAN UR CLUTCH IS HORRIBLE", which then brought over a few more people to try out my clutch, who all gave me the same reaction. I'm planning on getting a ACT street clutch kit with a fidanza flywheel, since i'm already past 35k on my odo and i was just wondering if getting a new clutch will fix this stiffness. i've heard that the act clutch is stiffer than stock, but i'm pretty sure it'll be more left-calf friendly than my stock one.
Depends on what you mean by stiffness. I had the stock clutch for about 9k miles, and then upgraded to the TRD clutch. I had never had a stick car before either, but I noticed a hell of a difference, I have a feeling you will to. The engagement points on the stock clutch is weird, and feels very sticky (engages more quickly than expected)
the "stiffness" of the clutch on this car is very very light. i dont know if thats what your talking about.
this is my 5th manual car. and out of all the cars i drove before it is like stepping on air...

yeah, thats the thing. i tried a friend's tC, and his was SUPER light easy to step on. but mine, it feels like it doesn't really want to go down and wants to spring back up when i depress it. and now, to compound that, i'm getting the squeaky clutch problem like a lot of other pple seem to have on tCs. i guess i just realy 'f'ed up my clutch?
lol since when were tires mushy? but its not like i'm complaining about my clutch, just that its so different from most other tCs. i'm just hoping a whole new clutch system will bring it back to the way it should be, or better.
