when ever i have my car in a gear and not moving like at a red light or stop light the intake rattles. Ive confirmed it by putting it into drive and putting the hand brake and popping the hood. Pushing down on the intake stops the rattle.

Any suggestions? is there some kind of mount thats missing or something?

 

Take off the top, remove the air filter and check to make sure none of the bolts came loose.

 

EXTREMELY known problem with tC's and intakes. Search around. Dr. Isotope sells a plastic separator that cushions the intake pipe against the fender and will stop this. I myself have bought HVAC tube covering and installed it between the intake pipe and fender brace.


EDIT. Misread. I'll leave the info for intakes up. But double check the mounting bolts. Also theres a "snorkel" that is used to baffle intake sounds in the fender, check and see if that has become lose.

 

I had this issue on my '05. one of the three mounting bolts(10mm head) holding the air box to the trans mount broke at 108K miles. Made a new bracket and its fixed.
