Default Stock clutch capability?

Before I install the turbo kit, I'm upgrading the clutch and flywheel and putting in a LSD kit. Scoping out Clutchmasters - stage 2 kit says that it's capable of 70% over stock. Stage 3 is 110% over stock.

My question is what is the capability of the stock clutch? My tC will be pushing into the 300+hp range. I'm sure that the stock clutch is designed to take on more than what the stock engine is capable of. I don't want to go totally overkill with the clutch and get a stage 3 when a 2 will do just fine.

Even more basically - what do you think should I get the FX200 (Stage II) or FX300 (Stage III) kit? It's still my every day car (should still be somewhat driveable). I'm leaning towards the stage II, but I want to make sure it'll be the right capacity.

This is one case where it'd be better to be 'just right' than too much.

300+? Iwould get a spec 3 clutch, but that's just me.

At that range, you'll still be eating away at clutches like a hobo on a big mac.

Yea, I need a clutch person to post something here...?

I would get that too except there is such thing as "too much clutch" too. They're priced the same. My guess is that the stage II is the better 70% clutch and the stage III is the lower 110% clutch. The difference might be in the median - I'm guessing a matter of person preference.

I guess I should just call clutchmasters huh?

And so I called clutchmasters. I'm going w/ the stage III. Drivability is still good all the way from stock to 110%.
