Default Stock ECU Swap Help. -A/T too M/T ECU- THANKS

Well hears my problem I did a transmission swap last year and have been running a A/T ECU on my new 5sp. because the car won’t start with the M/T ECU im forced to use the A/T ECU and im tired of seeing the CEL for none existing A/T parts. I just want the cel to go off so when there’s a real problem I will know. Any one know how to get the M/T ecu to work?

It has to be programed with Toyota ecu programming software.

Yea, I heard the ECU remembers the VIN and you would need Toyota to reprogram it into the ECU.

also if it is a used ecu you can go ahead and trash it because its useless. You will have to get one that hasn't ever been installed. Once they are installed you will not be able to put it in a different car due to security chip and the vin programming it will not work.

Actually you can get any used ecu of the same year to work without issue. Will pm you a link to the document. You have to go through the obd2 port to make the new / used ecm talk to the security system and gauge cluster. Takes about 35 minutes total and the only tool you need is a peice of wire *LOL*
