Default Stock Muffler

Heres the deal:
I want to go sleeper on my car and so far it is that way. I have a header an intake and a few other mini's but right now its definitely faster than a stock tC so its kinda in sleep mode because there are NO stickers and it sounds perfectly stock when driven normally. My question is will it still retain its quietness if I replace the whole exhaust system with one from say creative compacts and use stock muffler? I know that wouldnt be the best thing to do if I was looking for power but I know I could still gain a few horses even if I used the stock muffler with new piping but I just want to know if it would still be kinda quiet cause thats what I want. I would probably keep the stock tip too to make it as sleeperish as possible. What do you all think?

going with a larger diamter piping period will make your exhaust louder

Yeah I just didnt want it to be loud and raspy but after driving it today there is rasp when you have a header AND the stock exhaust. Its ALL from the header. Thing is I think it sounded really good so I dont mind the added rasp right now.

A more free flowing exhaust will always be louder, not unless you utilize some resonators. If you are NA go with 2.25in piping(same as stock), get a high-flow cat , a less restrictive muffler, and a resonator/s. Resonators do tone down the sound and they are not that much of a hindrance (to the exhaust flow) as some think. Since you have headers already, go all the way and replace everything from the s-pipe back to the tip.. That IMO is your best bet.

Don't get anything larger than 2.25. You'll want to keep some of that back-pressure.

Our mufflers are very restrictive. There are I believe 5 different chambers in it. So keeping isnt going to cut the mustard.

Someone did a cut out of it on here somewhere...

Well I DO plan on being FI in the future so I think I'll just go with the 2.5''. I really like the Draxas system thats out as far as looks go. Id imagine it sounds pretty good and since I know its going to be raspy I could throw a resonator on it to help.

If you want quiet, just keep the exhaust stock. Simple as that.

You don't HAVE to mod your exhaust. Sure, you can free up some power, but everyone will hear you coming. No sleeper there.

My friend had a sleeper. A GSR integra with a full turbo kit and all kinds of engine upgrades. He ran a completely STOCK exaust sytem. The car was damn near silent, until wide open throttle. And still fast as hell!

He also shaved the DOHC badge and ran base model integra wheels too! True sleeper!

A sleeper tC can be done if you really wanted to. I say go for it!

Wow that looks pretty darn restrictive! I cant believe my tC is being treated in such a manner. OFF with the stock exhaust!!! lol but I wonder what the Draxas one looks like inside since its basically the same shape.

Im sure the Draxas unit is a perforated straight through design, similar to TRD.
