I beleve that TRD Sparks said that there will be an adapter kit for the automatic transmissions but you will just have to wait until TRD releases it.

the "intake manifold" appears to be the discharge for the supercharger(the part that the air flows out of).

I am not goign through Toyota to finance so it shouldnt be a problem to finance as long as I get it with the purchase of the car. I am going to go talk to them this afternoon.

But I am still considering the ZPI turbo. I dont know what to do. I want the extra power, and I want a turbo. But The SC will be more reliable and warrantied.

so as i understand, the supercharger kit does *NOT* come with a boost guage? (or any other gauges for that matter)? and if we want them, they need to be purchased seperately?

Well I was at toyota today. They called TRD department and were told that a stop order was issued and they will have more info on monday. Then my sales rep told me the SC is a rip off anyhow and said go aftermarket turbo. I really think I might go ZPI.

Well I work at Toyota of Lake City in seattle, wa. And this is what i've heard about things. I thought about financing it through TFS aswell. I talked with one of the finance managers and said it IS possible to do. He didn't say if it was against any rules or not, so I don't know about all that. I do have one gripe about it, but I'll post that either somewhere else or make a new thread.

I personally would rather listen to the *spooling* of a turbo than the constant *whine* from a supercharger. If you can get the supercharger for $2800-2950 and install for $300-380, then I think it would be worth it. Because the Stage 0 kit is comparable in price. But I don't see paying more for less.

Well, it really depends on where you live. If you're in CA, what choice do you have? TRD is the only way or risk having pulled over and inspect. At least, it is the only CARB legal kit that we have so far. While it has a lower output than turbo, we just have to live with it (if we want to stay within the law)

Naw....the TC aint going anywhere(they would have to pry it out of my Kung-Fu grip). I can't see investing money in something to turn right back around and sell it off either (unless it's Stocks & Bonds). Still boosting happy and paying for their car is ScionDad, and Dyltone. And that new guy with the SW and white powdercoated white charge pipes. So, still 3 for 2 so far. I'm looking to be boosted end of Nov.

SC whines only under load/acceleration, at least that was my previous experience with SC'd car, and it was roots type, so tC will be quieter.

And you can get the SC shipped for under $3K (no tax either), and installed for under $400 if you can haggle with the dealer (took me couple of days, but I got my quote to sub-$400 figure and a free 1-day rental).

So it's not that expensive for 5 years of trouble-free legal FI.

That's why I'm gonna order a supercharger today . I can't sit back and wait for you know who to ship me my stuff . At least if something goes wrong it will be under warranty and I'll still have a faster than average TC Sweet.

I'm still hoping that they are downplaying the gains like dodge and chevy did with the srt-4 & cobalt ss, cause I don't see how 7psi of boost can only muster 40crank hp. At 7psi, we should be seeing 200 to the wheels at least. I still have my fingers crossed for those dyno numbers coming soon...

Which would be 80% of the time. Cause me and my girl both are aggressive drivers. And I just can't bare that *whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnn*. Sounds good if you race, but for a daily driver, I would get tired of it. That's just me! Not downing the SC in the least bit. Anything FI is A OK! in my book. And the "trouble-free legal FI" answer would be move somewhere where they don't give a crap...lol

superchargers don't have to be under load to whine. housings can be made to sound louder or quieter through dampening and other things. personally, I like the sound of turbos and superchargers. a supercharger with a nice, hearty whine and a turbo spooling or even better, running an open wastegate..both sound sweet as hell. mmm
