Tachometer Problem!

Tachometer Problem!
I have this problem with my tachometer that seems to like to offset itself by about 2,000-5,000 rpms. I have changed the leds in the cluster, but all the needles were properly placed back on and has worked for about 15k miles. It suddenly occurred to me about a week ago that the tac keeps jumping around after a while, sometimes it works properly. I'll be in 2nd gear and around 3,000 rpms and it claims I'm at 5,500. LOL, sometimes i'll drive and coast at 2,500 and its at redline and then suddenly pops back down to 3,000 rpms. I have opened up the cluster and place the tac down back at zero, but it still keeps fluctuating. I don't know if the tac motor is going out or just the sensor, any ideas? This crap is killing me, at least I know this car so I don't ever rely on the gauge, but COMMON!

heres a link thatll help you.
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=187622
and heres pretty much the only paragraph you need from that thread...
When you install the needle, shove it back on leaving 1/16th of an inch from the bottom of the needle to the gauge face. Then turn the needle in the direction of the stop place you marked in the first paragraph. The needle should stop well before the marker. You will then rotate the needle against the stopper and you will feel it turn with tension. Turn it until you align it with the stop point you marked. Once it is lined up, that needle is set!
if that doesnt work search, i know theres tons of thread on here about the same issue because i had the same problem, did a search and found at least 5 thread with the answer i needed.

See the problem with mine is not where the needle is placed, it is how it acts. Sometimes it correctly reads, and sometimes it drops way below the zero, and sometimes way above 2000 rpms. Does anyone know where the tac sensor is? Or is it part of the computer?
