Default tC Header rasp..

I know putting an aftermarket header causes a lot of rasp on the tC, but is this just the header itself or because we're removing a cat?
I was wondering if i put a 2nd cat on if this would eliminate some of the rasp caused by the header.

it will remove some, yes, along with 2 resonators if you have an aftermarket/custom midpipe

i always think that the aftermarket header give better performance is because they don't have a cat converter, it give better air flow. but do HP lose once you install the second cat converter?

it's an expensive to eliminate the rasp. Weld 2 resonators will cost you about $400

If you remove one cat and add another; wouldn't that be just as restrictive? unless you're talking about getting a high flow cat. What is your goal?

Well, I know that **** charged me so expensive that's why I only weld one resonator.

14" resonator plus weld labor = $200

Other place might be cheaper, but not near where I live. so I have no choice.

14" resonator still a lot better than the stock resonator. I wish other places around where I live that charge $40 for install, so I will weld one more.

2.5" s pipe $50 + weld resonator on stock midpipe $200 + greddy sp2 axle back $300= $550.

No need to clutter the thread with unhelpful crap.

My setup is only $50 dollar more so that is not a big different. lol

For those who said "search" is because they know that there are many threads in this forum already. no need to repeat. people should search before they post.

LMAO no tha's not what i meant... here at the muffler shop i go to, the guy charges about 20-30 to weld on a resonator, and if he's in a good mood, he'll usually drop the price by 5-10 bucks!!

You could weld it yourself, thats what I did. You could rent a MIG machine, and teach yourself the basic skills in a weekend with one of those DIY books.
After you pay someone 40 bucks each for 2 reso's its worth it. Then you have the skills for any future projects. Just my 2 cents...

well yeah i included the price of my 2 resonators obviously. the welding price is included in the custom 2.5" catback piping that he bent up for me for 120....

so im saying i bought the muffler, bought 2 resonators, and paid for the new piping with everything on it

Ya the goal was to get rid of some of the rasp cause by the header and I was thinking of either adding another high flow cat, or changing to a longer resonator. which would be better, or do both?
