i dont have all my tools with me so i decided to go buy a crescent wrench since i did not have anything big enough to get the sensor on the s pipe off.

now im stuck i put all my energy into unscrewing that sensor but it got it to turn maybe once but now it wont budge. i dont remember the sensor on the header being this difficult and since i pretty much have the s pipe off i dont want to give up and bolt it back in...

grr im just frustrated i thought this would be an easy install but it turn out to be a PITA

so has anyone else had this problem?

and what would happen if i just leave the O2 sensor off for now? (CEL is not a problem)

 

take the whole s-pipe out and then put the crescent wrench on and get a extended pole or something that you can use as a leverage and use that. i cant find any easier way then that, took that lil thing off in like .00001 seconds lmao!!

 

I have a sensor socket which gets it right off.

you can spray it with WD-40 or PB blaster to penetrate the rust on the pipe

 

hammer n a chisel! haha j/k i've seen the pipe method work billions of times. you should try it. let us know how it goes.

Check engine light will come on. car may not run either. not sure since I never tried that

 

how long is your crescent wrench?

mine is about 8 inches and i have a pole thats 3 feet long? i had a really hard time getting my o2 out also but with this technique i could of turned it with one finger.

after rereading what i just wrote it doesnt even sound right if you know what i mean. ... ....

 

mine is 10in so i can get a pretty strong pull on it...i dont have a metal pipe laying around either cuz i just moved and i have little to work with

 

i already have a CEL from my header so if its just that then i dont care but i dont want it to go into limp mode or run incorrectly...

I used a set of 460 channel locks, you can get them at any home depot.

 

ok ill get some of those tomorrow...for now ill just enjoy my terrible exhaust leak due to fitment issues
