Changing Injen intake filter.. How often?
I was wondering how often to change the filter on my Injen CAI.. I live in an area with alot of sand so I'm thinking it has to deal with alot more dirt/dust than some people have to contend with.
I believe every 15,000 miles is what was recommended but should I change it more often given the conditions?
Whats the best place to get a good price on replacment filters?
Thanks

From the Injen FAQ page:
15. How often you need to clean your filter will depend on the air and road conditions in your area. Most filters require cleaning before the dirt build up gets as thick as the wire mesh. The usual interval is 30,000 - 40,000 miles depending on driving conditions. We recommend that you check your filter about once a year in normal usage and once every six months if you are located in a dirty environment. If you are running with a cold air intake we recommend checking the filter every 10,000 vê 15,000. Using a Hydro-Shield will reduce service intervals.

^^that's what i was trying to get at earlier...it is probably dirty after 3k miles...but not near as dirty as after 15k miles...it will still perform fine with a little dirt on it
if your filter is dirty in less than 5 k then something is wrong there.....
after 10 k i was about the clean my filter...
and it was "clean"!!!!
i know it was clean because the first time i was clean it it was really dirty and it was impossible to see thru from the inside when i kept the filter between my eyes and the sun...
but now it was clean.. there was no dirty spots, everything loked fine.. even checked the MAF sensor, but it was clean.
btw im lowered, it rains a lot, but i dont missing the fake grill or the inner fender.
plus i dont do off road crazy stuff:D
