Default Top 5 most important performance mods?

Hey everybody, just got my 08 tC a month ago, can't wait to start adding onto it. I'm gonna be getting about $11k from reenlisting in the army reserve soon, and I'd like to spend most of it on my car. I have no previous experience working with cars, so I'd just like to know what your opinions are on the top 5 upgrades I should get, I'm interested solely in performance.

with 11k i think with the tc's, suspension should come first--coilovers, sways, etc..

then a good F/I setup.

1.lowering springs and struts, front and rear anti-sway bars.
2.clutch, flywheel, lsd.
3. lighter wheels and grippy tires
4. turbo or supercharger
5. gauges, engine management

not in that particular order, just the order that they came to me in.

1. Wheels ( Good one...not cheap ___ wheels)
2. Coils and sway bars
3. If you don't want to go FI. Go with H/I/E
4. New headunit and speakers
5. fly wheel and clutch....

depends on what you want in terms of performance, but overall balance of performance mods:
springs and struts, sway bars, *tires*, crank pulley, intake.
And not in any particular order.

get all your handling done first so when you add more power you can actually play safely

since you have plenty of money i think you should do some internal engine upgrades.... then work on your suspension, and i really suggest getting a nice turbo you could make your car very quick and nice

5. lightened flywheel + upgrade clutch while your at it

5. nice set of wheels + tires for traction

trade in your tc + 11k for a new or used STi or Evo, and mod that =p

1. Coilovers/springs and struts
2.Brakes
3. Turbo Kit (including e-manage)
4. Catback Exhaust
5. light weigh clutch and flywheel

Sounds like a fun project

If performance in is your sole concern you have to look at all aspects of performance.

Power-
Intake, Exhaust, Turbo Kit

Braking
Pads, Rotors, Lines, BBK

Suspension
Coilovers would be your best bet.

Top 5 in descending order

5 Intake
4 Exhaust
3 Suspension/tires
2 Brakes
1 Turbo kit

Take your time and have fun. Its best to get one upgrade one piece at a time. Then you can really feel the difference on what each item does. If you do all the mods at once its no fun. Plus you can trouble shoot problems easier with the one mod at a time method.

Invest your $11k instead of blowing it on an econobox. You'll thank me later when you see how much your $11k will grow to.

But if you want to spend it
Turbo kit
Full suspension
Wheels
Lip Kit

5. interal part (connectin rods, pistons should be ur first choise)

you don't need to build internals unless your going from some really insane horsepower numbers. stock engine is fine for boosting, and doesn't need to be built up.

Listen to this young man's advice and to this older man telling you he's right. When I got out of the service in 1985 I blew my savings on a brand new Camaro and rented a condo in Hawaii that was worth $55k at the time. Should've bought a beater and the condo, two years later it was worth $89k. (Yeah, this is the voice of regret )

Put some into the car - $2k on suspension, bolt-ons & tuning will get you a great handling tC with good pep - and invest the rest.

Sway bars, springs & shocks, intake, exhaust and invest the rest put around 5k in the bank and don't touch it and what ever else put in a CD or tsp if you have it set up.

TURBO or SC

brake pads/rotors

lowering kit (springs, shocks OR coilovers)

short shifter/clutch/flywheel

tires

port/polish head/valves/valve springs/cams/pistons/rods/aem fic and a hell of a tune!!

but id invest it too
