Default transmisson problem!!!

I have 2009 scion tc (5 speed), it only has about 6,600 miles on it. Lately I have been having problems putting it into reverse about every 3 out of 10 times i try, it seems like something is getting in the way when I try and eventually it goes in after a couple of minutes of fighting to get it in. It's becoming a serious problem seeing it almost caused me to be backed into the other day when i could barely get it in reverse in time to back up and avoid the accident! If anyone has had this same problem, or knows what i should do please let me know .

my 2006 can't get into R sometime. i think it is normal, nothing serious. I have to shift into 2nd gear and shift to R again.
It does make me look like a retard during K turns.

Have the same issue and also sometimes issues from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd,... took it to dealer of course they couldn't replicate the problem and said nothing was wrong with it. Learned to deal with it, I have 5600 miles also 2009.

Try letting off the clutch and then putting it R or try putting it in to 1st then into R...

this is normal. u basically need the car to roll a few inches for it to fall in, so take it into 1st. or let off the brake if it's on a hill..

yup this is normal mine does it all the time. if it does not engage from neutral to reverse. put it back into neutral let the clutch out then press it back in and it should engage reverse every time seems to work for me.
