It would help to know if there are any other accompanying mods. An intake will make it a bit louder..if you have one, put your stock intake back on, take the test, then reinstall your CAI.

to each his own as to why he opens a new thread.
still confused?
well its simple. I opened a new thread because i felt like it.
to let the scionlife family know about the trd exhaust not passing the decible reading test. well that my car that has a trd exhaust didnt pass the the exhaust decible reading at the referee station.
still confused? well i dont know what else to say to make it into the simplest way for you to not be confused.

Is it used, or a brand new one? Over time, any exhaust will get slightly louder, and may cause you to fail a decibel test.

I have the TRD exhaust in my 08 tc and I have yet to be pulled over. Before I traded my 03 eclipse it had a catbac and a 3A racing muffler and a AEM CAI on it and was louder than the TRD I passsed the emissions test in three states. So how long have you had your TRD?

Had you put some detailed info, like what the law states and why you don't think you're breaking it, it would have made sense. You could have also listed any other mods that you have that could cause the exhaust to be louder than it's supposed to be.

I can solve the problem really quickly (about 2 clicks worth of time) if you would like? Point is, the OP didn't provide anything useful. It would be like me making a thread about getting pulled over for tint when I know it's past the legal limit.

its a trd exhaust! thats the point. it should have had passed the first time and it read at 116 decible.
but anywho...
FYI; dont take your car to El Camino College if ever you need to go get your exhaust db reading.
I made another appt for this morning at Golden West College. Get this!.. the reading got the exhaust at 92.6! what a big ___ difference!
SO after the second try with a second opinion my car passed!.

why would i need to provide what the law states. well if you want. The law over here in cali is at 95 db.
another reason. the Trd exhaust is claimed to have a db reading lower than 95db, correct me if im wrong.

Because without it, the thread is pointless. I don't know why that's so hard to understand. For example, let's say there's a new member on here who has no clue about regulations on exhaust noise levels. Saying that the TRD read at 116db without providing the legal limit means nothing. All someone would be able to infer is that it must have been past the legal limit since you were pulled over. Stating that it should have read at 95db, which is within the regulations stated by CARB, would have provided useful information.
