I didn't think the TRD exhaust was loud enough to need a silencer ...

Just 'Dynamat' the bottom of your hatch. Sound-deaden the back and he won't hear the Exhaust. Bonus: It will also make the Sub hit harder.

Try here buddy... http://www.crutchfield.com/S-OqDeybP...skipvs=T&g=890 . Sometimes you can find this stuff (or similar product) cheaper on Ebay. Just beware: you get what you pay for.

I Don't have the TRD exhaust, but I do have the magnaflow. The exhaust notes on both exhausts are pretty similar.
I don't know how it is with the TRD exhaust, but with the magnaflow The only time it is really audible in the cabin is under acceleration. Cruising at a steady speed. Like highway driving the magnaflow exhaust can barely be heard even with-out music playing.
I'd like to think it would be the same with the TRD.
I don't think a silencer or a universal baffle is available or fit the TRD exhaust, but good luck.

I agree, I have the TRD, and jeez, it's not loud at all, and only under acceleration.
Tell Dad it's cool.
Don't change it.

You forget...he's only 17. Its not his car. I guarantee his name isnt on the title/payment note. Just thank your dad for getting you a new car. Move on.

The TRD exhaust is fine. Yes, it's louder than the stock exhaust, but it's certainly not out of line.

If you want quiet, then either trade for the stock exhaust (I'm sure someone will trade locally....and probably do the work for ya) or take out the interior of your car (can be done in 1 day) and mat your interior.

if u trade mufflers, somebody will be wasting 500 big ones in financing. thats too much extra every month to pay if u dont have it anymore. it wont be made up until u pay off or refinance.
how did it get put on in the 1st place.
