I heard the TRD's were also made by borla.

I have the TRD and I love it, modest gain and very nice sound without the whine(rice). I love the engraved TRD. I prefer to do TRD parts simply for the warranty. It comes with a 12month warranty if you install it yourself. I also figure it takes a bit of the crap away from the dealer if the part is from toyota.

bolts on in about 15 minutes including removing the old exhaust.

I think the TRD exhause for the tC sounds pretty good. Not too loud, not too ricey. Power gains are not enough to notice, but it looks better and sounds better than stock, and you won't have any warranty issues.

There's a lot of great aftermarket stuff out there though, and very few people get into warranty disputes over exhaust systems.

I'm not sure if the TRD is made by borla or not but the one offered at the dealer is a full cat back as opposed to the TRD being an axle back. I got it for my car and love the sound. Plus if you don't already have a CAI or drop in it comes with a matching Borla drop in filter which made a small difference between it and the exhaust. Not enough to brag about but nice to know its there I guess.

^^that's an extreme negative ghostrider. I hope you meant axle. It even says it on Sparks Toyota's site.

i've talked to the dealership and they told me that anything i do to the motor well not void the warranty on my tc, but if you do anything other than TRD springs, that'll void your suspension warranty.

well my exhaust must be a retardo one off or something, cause the piping is the same diameter and with mandrel bends as the piping coming and going to the TRD muffler and it starts at the cat. BTW my car came with the exhaust from the factory.

sorry, Im retarded, I do believe now that lookin at different pictures and examining my exhaust more, I think its just an axle back, but hell, it sounds great and I noticed a difference between a stock TC and one with the exhaust when I drove them.

I ordered my TRD exhaust through McGeorgeparts.com. I was going to order through TRDsparks.com, but when I looked at the prices, mcgeorge was cheaper even with tax and shipping. It should be in monday. Can't wait to install it. Sorry for going off topic kind of, just if you buy it look at prices first.

when i went to the tC training, i asked about the axle back setup. what the TRD guy told me, was that i helps reliability with the piping. he also said they were getting 5-7 hp gains. i like the way it sounds....plus, you lose some torque in the low end i think, well thats how it felt anyways, and i think thats a plus with the wheel spin on the tC.

I just installed mine, I like it a lot, easy to put on and looks great. The sound is just right, not to loud and more than enough to improve the sound.

5-7hp sounds about right can't wait to see what happens when I put bigger piping on from axle to s-pipe.
