Default trd intake questions, concerns...

i have a 08 tc, and i was installing a trd intake when...

1) the filter to the lower pipe to the mid pipe are very hard to line up. i bearly i mean bearly got it to fit under the wheel well. problem is, when i turn, my tires scrape the wheel well. not only the wheel well but the piping is right behind there. anyone have this problem? i mean i kept trying to twist it more and more and thats as far as it budges. any suggestions?

oh i have trd springs only and 18s

2) also, how do i know it's working? sounds? i have a trd exhaust which i hear the most. i think i do feel more power but that could just be my imagination. any suggestions?

Hardly any gains from intake and axle back.

oh i mean, the lower pipe and the mid pipe where they connect protrude the wheel well a bit, so it causes my tire to rub when i turn RIGHT. im wondering if my car is lowered and being on 18s was the problem.
