Default TRD Performance Exhaust

Hey Everyone,

I know there are a lot of posts about exhaust selection but i cant get a staright answer from any one of them....im hoping i can get one from my own post.

Im in the market for an axle-back exahust system....im leaning for the TRD, but i wanna get some feed back from everyone.

ive read on here that for whatever reason our cars gain about 4-5 HP from both Axle-back and Cat-Back Systems. and that basically any axle-back would give you about the same performance level.... is that true for the TRD?? will it give me any kind of gain (HP, Torque, Throttle response?

What im looking for is something that dosent sound too ricey, not too too loud, but still gives a gain.

Can any help me out??

I would love some input

Thanks Everybody!!

Any gains from an axle back won't be noticed by the butt-dyno. The TRD muffler sounds great IMO. If you later decide to upgrade the rest of the exhaust (header, S-pipe ect) the TRD unit gets LOUD and raspy without a resonator.

i dont think ill be upgrading any more then just the axle-back, if anything, i thnk it would have TRD stamp on it, i think thats the way i wanna go....all TRD parts ( i think, my opinions could change if the right mod comes accross , lol)

do you think that i would feel any sort of throttle response??

i have the trd exhaust. sound wise, it's mild and low toned. performance wise, you feel almost nothing. maybe the louder exhaust puts it in your mind that you're going much faster, but in reality, 3-5 hp isn't anything special. sounds like what you're going for. hope this helps.

I have the TRD axle back. I like it, I did it because the price was right and I really liked the sound. This was after I had bought all the parts to do build my own cat back exhaust. I still may do it and keep the TRD muffler. There was a post showing a cut open stock muffler. I think it might be in the exhaust comparison thread under the tC sub menus. Search and im sure you can find it. TRD FTMFW!
Look I'm being nice:

i would suggest the tanabe concept g....good balance, nice and low.....all i got out of this axleback was better throttle response and a cooler sound....haha....there is no noticeable or significant gain for these exhausts until you turbo, which you would get a full set up for a turbo back exhaust....but for axlebacks and cat backs right now, there's nothing more than a name...so go with what you like....personally i wouldn't get the trd
