THE SAME AS THE WHOLE FREAKING EXHAUST! you gain NOTHING. bump up to a 2.75 or 3" and you might notice VERY LITTLE with the butt dyno. these same people made it hard for true tuners to drive around without getting hassled. get a real header (not the DC sports b.s.) a full exhaust, intake manifold, new cams, bigger diameter valves, valve springs, retainers, (no b.s. pulleys, like a.e.m) and then, MAYBE then you can be respected for trying. take the fuggin stickers off your car, and the god damn bodykits. and oh my hell i have even seen a aluminum spoiler running around on a tc already. reasons like these are the reason i got rid of my integra. please people (ricers) dont f@#k it up for my tc. oh yea, the TRD supercharger only puts about 190 hp to the wheels. get it right.
Aluminum spoiler? That would be awesome, because the other day I saw a wooden one. It was a white Civic, year 1990 approx., blue racing stripes, and a wooden pedestal spoiler. I am serious, it was wood. Homemade?

they'd be talking to toyota b/c toyota is the parent company for one. second, the supercharger is going into a toyota(scion) car. third, scion salespeople have to know info on it so they can SELL IT. if u walked into a dealership and asked a salesperson about it and they told u-"i have no idea about it-we're not doing the r&d on it ourselves" wouldn't u think that sounded absurd and stupid? warrantied toyota part with a toyota part number that their dealers have no information on??? i also don't believe that trd is not involved with the whole process. they had to have some input on the r&d/stuff like that. maybe they're not the actual ones who are producing it(making it in their factory or whatever) but they had to have some input. it's gonna be labled a trd part and covered by toyota under warranty. i don't think they'd take someone elses word on r&d and whatever else and then just pray everything works out fine-then if it doesn't, toyota will just deal with it later.

trd is doing an a$$load of r&d on the SC setup, otherwise it would be already out two a year ago....and probably with a sketchy setup.

exactly. they wouldn't trust someone else to do everything for a part that has their name stamped on it.

Frankly I'm not concerned with what people think who assume things about my car and myself before knowing the facts or even seeing my car. If someone assumes I'm a “ricer” because I say I have a Scion tC, then I don’t want to be bothered with such people. The same people that might, for example, assume various stereotypes about your girlfriend if you were to tell them that she was Asian, White, Black, or whatever before even meeting her. Even without quote on quote "riced out" tC's out there, there are some people who will assume its a "rice burner" because its a Scion, by Toyota. I cant be concerned w/ the asinine opinion of such individuals. That's not to say that I don’t care what other people think, because a lot of the things I've done to mar car thus far have been for my enjoyment and for a "show-off" factor, if you will. But, such mods are for those that actually see my car, and not those that just make assumptions about it. If someone wants to add an aluminum spoiler to their tC because they like that look, more power to them. Doesn’t effect me, and anyone who see's that car and assumes something about my car before seeing it or knowing what I do with it, well, that's no sweat off my back, I have more intelligent people to enjoy my car with.

Is anyone else as concerned as I am about it being a factory only option? that would totaly suck. the SC was one of the key reasons I bought my tC. I just hope TRD/Scion realizes how much they could loose by doing it that way. I think a majority of us who want the SC already have a tC. oh well. keep my fingers crossed.

its not a factory only option. you can just buy it from whoever and just install it yourself if you want to. look at some of the website like newscionparts, trdsparks, or whoever else. they have the supercharger listed already, just isn't available for sale yet. the whole point of getting it thru scion/toyota and having them install it is because of the 4 yr/50,000 mile warranty.

thats my whole point. going to a dealer to install it like other dealer options was a key selling point for me. I wanted forced induction but not worrying about blowing the engine... I already did that once w/ my rex. I love the tC... don't get me wrong, but i want more power... just not at the expense of the warranty.

You can buy it from toyota/scion after it comes out, have them install it, and the waranty will be intact.

Anyone who is that concerned about a bunch of stereotyping, uneducated dip____s thinking down on their car is a dip____ themself!!! People who stereotype everything are worthless, usually under educated, and mean absolutely nothing to me. They are the same weak minded humans that mod their car just so others will think better of them. They are also just like the same weak minded people that buy cars just to impress the ladies or other people with their status.... BECAUSE they are weak minded idiots. I do what I want to my car because I like it. If some little teenage punk or some weak yuppie that knows jack ____ about a car other than the badge on the front and how much they cost wants to talk ____... then let them. Just shows their stupidity. Their friends/girlfriends will eventually see through their lack of knowledge and choose to hang out with someone confident in themselves.... no one likes a trend follower!!!!!

TRD Superchargers are warranted for a year of parts only coverage regardless of the installer. TRD Superchargers installed by a Toyota dealership will be covered for 12 months or the remainder of the factory powertrain warranty, whichever is greater. When installed by the dealer, it covers labor, parts, and any Toyota warranted parts damaged or destroyed by the defective supercharger.

all trd parts have a 1 yr warranty i believe. i know the springs for the tc have a 1 yr warranty on them even if you put it in yourself. i got mine done, just not at scion cuz they wanted like $500 or more to do it. however, if you did have toyota do the install, there was a 3 yr warranty. same thing will prob be the case for the supercharger-1 yr warranty if you do it yourself except the powertrain warranty will be coming from trd for 4 yrs or 50,000 miles.

Even if it was a factory option we could still get it eventually just like the ground effects kit is a port option but you can still get it from certain places... I just hope they don't want an arm and a leg to install it or I might just take it to autozone... J/K...
