Default Turbo PSI question for Scion tc

hey all. im thinking of what i want to get for my nest mod and really wanting a turbo. Im looking at either getting on of the ZPI kits. Im wondering if anybody know what a safe psi level would be to run on the the stock motor. The stage 0 has a boost of 6.5psi and the stage 1 has a boost of 9.8 psi. would 9.8psi be too much in the long run? will it mess with the life of my engine? or should i just go with the stage 0's 6.5 psi boost and call it a day? any input would be nice.

of course it messes with the life of your engine

by how much is what you should be asking... and the answer? who knows. there hasn't been enough time to get 100k miles boosted with a tC yet

Get a boost controller and turn down the boost when you need to.

Yea exactly, what you could do is go w/ a stage 1 if you want real serious power but change the spring in the wastegate so it opens up at 7 psi instead of the 10 psi and just get a boost controller if you ever wanna up the boost past the 7 psi mark. My wastegate opened at 5-6psi on the xB, then I had a boost controller bring it up to around 8-9psi to roll the unsuspecting civics w/ I/H/E type mods.

It is not that easy. With the Emanagd tuned for 10psi if you turned the boost down the car would run like crap. It would be very rich and would not make the power. You would need two maps. We also include a 9.8psi spring in the wastegate so you would actually have to change the spring to make the car run less boost.
