Default Turbo questions

First off, let me admit that I am a technical idiot! So please not too much jargon.

If one was to purchase a turbo charger, how would it effect the longevity of a tC?

In addition, what other compenents are required to ensure you have a safe turbo set up?

Thank you in advance!

i'v been told a turbocharger can take 25% off the life of a engine. but i believe alot of that has to do with how much boost you are running on a stock block. i hope this helps

Souljah347 so what you are saying is that our engines will still last 225,000 miles! My toyota truck has over 300,000!!!

If you run a quality setup and monitor your air/fuel properly, and do regular maintenance on the motor.. your turbo'd car will last you a long time..

As Solution said, maintenance is everything, turbo'd or not. Forced induction will increase the temperature of the piston strokes, so it will bring engine temperature up quite a bit, causing more damage with lesser engine parts.
