Default Turbo Questions...

Hello,

I am going to install a turbo on my tC and I have a few questions!

1. How do I adjust the air/fuel ratio?
2. What does retarding the timing do and how do I do it? (Also what is timing anyway?)
3. Do I need a new ECU?!

There are so many things I never knew needed to be done, I read the "tuning turbos" thread and thats why im asking these questions ^...

Thanks,
Mike

P.S. I plan on buying the ZPI Stage 0 kit (no intercooler / wastegate)

you can adjust the A/F ratio by tuning the ECU, its a complicated process which involves tuning each RPM band.
Yes, if you are going to buy a Stage 0, you're going to have to remap fuel lines and such, you wont need a new ECU, itll just have to be fine tuned.

Will the stage 0 not come with new injectors?

Our Stage 0 kit comes with all tuning done. All you need to do is install the parts start the car and drive it in to the sunset. The kits are setup to be a turnkey operation so no need to worry about tuning or anything else. '

The stage 0 kit does not need injectors as the factory 370cc are more than big enough.

Thanks

I promise you that both kits will perform well but offer their own little flair. So far I'm very impressed with ZPIs numbers and will support the general FI public, regardless of which kit you buy.

We're making every effort to offer high end power at a very competitive price.

Like ZPI and I believe SS, our kits will be pre-programmed as well.

Unfortunately, SS' kits do not come w/ any form of pre-tuning. They come with the harness installed to plug in and tune an Emanage, but that's it. Unless something has changed recently.

Hmm, could be right. I honestly haven't looked in a while. I guess we'll see what works best once everyone has their kits.
