Default TWM Short Throw or any other for that matter...

Does anybody know if short throws for the TC just change the height of the shifter, or do they shorten the linkages as well?

I am thinking about ordering theTWM tonight.

I'd do some research next time but... The TWM does shorten the height, as well as the throw. The B&M shifter only shortens through, but not the height.

And lest we forget, cheaper does not generally indicate better... I swear by the TWM. Superb build quality. Worth every penny.

hahaha, I have my Creative Compact shifter already
Having driven cars with both the CC and TWM, there are only a few minor differences...it will come down to personal preference:

the TWM appears to sit a little higher height wise, and is less stiff in the shifts. It has an excellent "return to neutral" balance.

the CC is stiffer in the shifts (my personal preference), shorter in height, but has "less return to neutral" pressure than the TWM.

Keep in mind, we are talking relatively small differences here, You'd really have to drive both setups to truly notice the difference between the two. And even then, as I said, it's going to come down to a personal preference.

I think even if you got the TWM, instead of the CC, you're going to see a difference over the stock.

As far as I know the TRD and the aftermarket short throws only address the for and aft but not the side to side. I made my own because I wanted much less side to side so now have:

48MM side to side

62mm for and aft (may shorten that up a bit soon)

30mm shorter height of the shift **** know as well

i don't remember precise measurements, but height wise it was atleast 1-2 inches shorter. Shiftwise, I don't think Iever measured the shift throw...

Wow, that much shorter than the TWM? That would make like a total of 4-5" shorter than stock. Or are you talking about the B&M?

nope, the TWM.....I don't recall if the TWM had the spacers/risers on it or not. Mine did/does not, and that would account for about 1/2 an inch right off the bat.

Maybe we can get someone with a TWM to measure height from the console to the top of the threads.

4-5 inches is almost impossible. That would make the **** almost level with the console.

I dont think James Actually copied the TWM... I think he was saying twm was _____ing at him about doing so. But the impression I have is that the two are not the same. James woudl be a better person to ask regarding that though.

there was an article a while ago where James said that TWM accused him of copying their design, but from what I understand the CC shifter is not as short as TWM's.
