Default Weapon R Cold Air Box Installed with Pics

ok-i just got the cold air box today and it's been giving me some install problems. i have the redline tuning hood lift, which is installed on the drivers side of the engine bay. with the hood lift and the cold air box, the hood won't close. you can slam it down, but it might break the box or the hood lift-basically, don't try to force it. what i'm gonna do is take off the hood lift and reinstall it on the other side of the engine bay. the other problem which isn't that big of a problem is that my tanabe strut tower bar is also pressed against the top of the box. this is just touching it, but isn't really that tight against the cold air box. as of right now, i have the box installed, but without the top untill i get the hood lift moved.

i will as soon as i get the damned thing installed properly. i wanna see what the hp numbers are for the weapon r, the ram air kit, and the cold air box all together. in the other post about the cold air box i put a pic up of someone testing the temperature of the engine bay, the intake manifold, the outside or the cold air box and then inside of the cold air box. the temp difference from engine bay to the inside of the cold air box was 50 degrees. that's a pretty big difference. i'm hoping that'll add some hp.

So, how much is this cold air box ??? I also have a WR intake and i'd be interested in seeing the dyno compared to that doesn't have the cold air box.

Try putting some spacers under the mounting plate for the hood lift before you go drilling.

Looks like Fabrication time.

A Dremel or wheel cutter tool will take care of that issue.

i think i'm gonna have the box painted-just not sure what color yet. i want superwhite, but it's gonna get dirty too fast. i may just go with red or blue to match the wiring in the car.

Its the GReddy universal oil catch can. Unbolt the PCV valve and measure the diameter of the valave. That'll let you know what size you need.

This is kinda off-topic, but do you guys think the redline hood lift will work on a carbon fiber hood? thanks.
