Default Weapon R Secret Weapon

I have been looking for videos of the SW SRI, but I only found one which did not work. If you could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. Also, if you have the SW, were there any issues that you had installing it?
Thanks,
Matt

SRI install is really easy, pretty much take out the old box and put this thing on.... I'll take a look for a video of it in action though...

I have had the intake now for almost 8 or 9 months now.. I love it. I do not however have a sound clip for you, but it sounds outstanding.. take my word on that. Installation is a breeze.

-Unbolt the stock airbox
-Remove stock piping from throttle body
-Put new intake together
-Clamp down

Enjoy!

Thats awesome. I've just heard some stories about a huge amount of torque being lost after a while and it makes me weary about buying the WR.

I have not experienced that so called tourque loss.. There is only speculation.. I dont think that anyone has actually put the intake on.. dyno'd it.. waited a few months.. and dyno'd again.. just to prove that theory.

My only advice to you or anyone.. if you buy an intake.. for your own sake.. inspect the living hell out of it. Be sure to run some water through the tube to get out all of the potential shavings from the machining process. Other than that...

Yeah, I have read about your problems and I would definatly check for shavings. I would just be so ____ed if I had to reset the ECU a bunch of times just so I could get my torque back. But the WR sounds like a good graduation project!

Indeed. I haven't had to reset anything.. there is so many possibilites involved when human error is concerned. Best of luck..

there are some issues with the WR SRI.....my main beef if where they placed that sensor..because its too close to the air filter and that sensor "senses" alot of air flow n dcides to dump alot of fuel into the engine...this caused one tC owner cat to burn out because the fuel awas too rich....only if they place the sensor back (like the new TRD intake does)...this problem would be sloved...n the WR would be the best SRI for the tC...n also check for shaveings...rinse the crap out of your intake pipes befor install.....also if you want help with the install....Clubsciontc.com has a new install guide for the WR SRI..its all step-by-step and a breeze to install...hope this helps

Couldn't that sensor issue be solved with Greddy's eManage or something of the sort?

Awesome, thanks for all the help guys. I actually just got a PM from someone offering to sell me their WR SRI...which kinda concerns me. (Hopefully they just got a SC and had to get rid of the SRI). Oh, and did I hear >>>>>>TRD INTAKE<<<<<?

And Mizle, sweet video. That was the one that I couldn't access, maybe it was because of the school's filter.
Regards,
Matt

It just seems like I hear something bad about every CAI or SRI. With Injen, it is the rubbing issue. With WR, its the MAF sensor. With Umnitza, its the high price and low results. With the AEM, oh wait ITS NOT OUT. I just want to know what I will be getting before I drop $200+. I think that the TRD CAI would be cool, but I heard rumors about the lack of power that it provides. Maybe between that and my TRD "performance" exhaust I'll get 1-2 HP

with the injen in sri version i use a smaller injen filter and i have no rubbing problems! i will get it dyno'd in the spring. but it seems like a solution to the rubbing issues.

I’m ditching my Weapon-R SRI for an Injen CAI w/ optional HydroShield on its way in the mail. On an Auto TC I have noticed a significant loss in TQ and Gas Mileage with the Weapon-R which are two of my top priority’s, so I will let you all know how things go with the Injen ASAP.
