I dont think it has to do with your Intake, you will get the same results from any intake. The car will need to take a big gulp of air ( on Automatics ) and then downshift, which is why you get a lag between shifts. Which makes you believe there is a Loss in torque. This is very typical for Automatics. I would first try and reset your ecu, let the car idle for 15 minutes and then take it for a moderate regular drive so the ECu can relearn. this may help you alot, regardless of intake brand.
Most people go ahead and " REV " the heck out of the car when they get an intake installed, which will cause the ECU to quickly have to relearn and not calibrate correctly, for optimal performance.

Try out my recommendation it may or maynot help you. But in the end it doesnt cost you a $0.10....

If it helps im glad you tried my recomendations.
If it doesnt then you can experiement with different intakes which i can almost gurantee wont give you that BIG torque gain back that your talking about.

Also to comment on the sensor position, the air coming into the pipe and passing by the Air Flow Sensor will not make any diofferece where you place it because the airlfow will be the same in any part of the pipe +/- slight variations in speeds between bends.

We have tried placing the sensor in different places and it doesnt effect the A/F or performance.

Cheers..

WR has their own heat shield that works with their own products. you should be slapped for even thinking of that question

It's acutually a universal heat shield I got off Ebay. Why pay $40 or 50 for a name brand heat shield? Get a $10 one that does the same thing and slap a decal on it. My Weapon-R intake w/ shield will soon be up for auction.

I found that WR made Heat Shield only for the Dragon Intake, does it works with the Regular Intake?

I found that i had a loss of power with my weaponr intake so i sold it for $125. it seems like some people like their weaponr intake so i figured if the person who bought it didnt like they would still be able to get back what they paid for it.

no.. that won't work.. it is to my knowledge that WR has a cold air box made for the tC but i am currently having touble looking for it... i can ask around for you to find out for sure... but it is certain that WR isn't gonna steal someone else's products and rebadge them (thus my slap comment) no offense.

The Weapon-R Cold Air Box also does NOT fit with the Redline hood lift, so another good reason to just get a universal heat shield if you are sticking with the SRI. Still waiting for my INJEN CAI in the mail so I can sell this puppy HA

I have no proven fact that the intake caused it to blow, but it does seem like a coincedence.

...then you need to watch how you word your statements. They come off sounding like accusations and stuff like that is gonna start up a lot of stuff and make some people on here crap their pants .

I have it... now on Ebay HaHa. The finish and install is easy but It's not a "best choice" intake on an Auto TC. I hear and imagine better results for you 5-speed guys & girls though.

Get It Here with custom extras :
