this depends on how extreme you want to be! If you still want to use your tC for daily driving mainly, it's going to be tough to get massive weight reduction.

the tC's weight is shifted around, it prolly would lighten it up for the straight line, but in general prolly make it a ____tier ride overall.

i can't see how the weight reduction will make that much of a difference unless you go all out and strip out everything you don't need and leave a bare bones interior

I would say you can remove around 175 in weight if you dive into it. The hard part is deciding what parts you would miss. All items removed served a purpose so you need to decide if the weight saved is worth the loss of the part. Make sense?

^^^
that made me think of the interior of a elise, they kept the Elise's weight down by stripping away most of the comforts that are considered mandatory/standars in cars. if i can recall it weights slightly under a ton

Why not look into making more power rather than cutting weight?

because he's probably on a budget...and cutting weight is a lot cheaper then buying mods.

well if he's going to buy a cf hood and hatch... thats an easy $1,000 right there.....

but yeah, without losing comforts, its not all that easy to reduce weight. I know when i had no interior besides a driver seat a month ago when i rewired my interior, it was LOUD AS HECK. but hey, it felt kinda peppy (i was also running no axleback at the time, so that probably had something to do with the volume...)

I almost never have people in my back seat, so I take it out time to time. Almost I take everything from the trunk area. I take the radio off the car, since when I go to the track, I don't use the radio when at the track anyweay, so there goes about 10lbs. :D There are a lot of possibilities of weight reduction if u take the time. I take the seat outs just for the track, after that, the next day I put them in today. U should know what to sacrifice. It's either beauty of power.

While reducing weight, if you're gonna spend a bit of money then change anything that rotates. That is, wheels, brake rotors, and flywheel. I don't support pulley mods but that's probably going to be the cheapest.

Hood, trunk, fenders, Wheels, Slotted Rotors, this would be in Carbon Fiber. Trunk Area, Rear Seats, Radio, A-pillars, Glove Box, Shifter Panels. I'm just pointing out the easiest panels and stuff to get out of the car just to go to the track, and some things that would be weight reduction.

As stated the ammount of weight that can be removed is all up to what you can deal without. I can make my TC super light if I remove glass and sun roof.....etc but I would hate driving the Tc then...get my point?

Instead of a cf hood you could buy a couple hood pins and strip the metal support on the bottom of the hood. The metal support will probably be about 5-10lbs and the hood pins look kinda nice and help keep the hood as rigid as it is with the underhood support. I saw it done on a sentra budget racer in a magazine a few years back and plan on doing it myself on my car. Will post how much weight it saves and if it still looks ok with it removed.

You can find lighter wheels, better tires, clutch, flywheel, pulley kits, and a few other pieces of the rotating assembly if you look around a bit.

Carbon fiber body pieces look good and are lighter than the stock pieces so that's a good idea.

You can also remove interior pieces, spare parts, and bumper supports from behind the front and rear bumpers.

I rear mounted my battery.

Took about 40lbs off the front left of the car. My new battery only weighs 15lbs and is on the left side trunk area, only because I didn't buy enough wire. It works fine for the last four months now.
