umm check your ground wire kit, and check the ground to your subs I know that bad grounds with amplifiers can make a whine, my old hatchback had that for like three days before I finally figured it was my amp ground... next thing is how long has your drop in filter been in??? If its relatively new when air masses our MAF sensor it couses a whistle and if you just put that filter in, you just started getting increased air flow and that MAF whistle is probably more notiecable... Other than that not a clue in the world... hope you figure it out

I have a whine also but mine appears at around 70mph at 5th gear and only when the a/c is on. I have no idea what it is?

Mines is over 36000 so I guess I'll change the gear oil.

i have a feeling that this is the problem, i really started to notice it after i installed my jl-comps but i didnt mess with the gounds then. im installing a cap soon and i hope that will cure the problem. the filter has been in for about 12,500 miles so thats not the problem and the car has only 15k altogether so the tranny really cant be the problem either. thanks guys.

Are you talking about the turbo-like whistle from giving throttle while the engine is under a load? That's the sound of air being rushed past the throttle plate.

Not sure what it could be if you're talking about something else.

I have some pretty loud gear whine in the lower RPMs (usually only 2nd gear).. It might be that?

My car has done it since I first got it back in 04.
