ok here is the update... driver side axle and trans needs to be replaced. im a lil sceptikal about the trans so i told them to just replace the axle. they arent aloud to do that since my car still isnt "safe" to drive with the trans how it is. Also they said with all my modifications that it voids my warranty and i have to pay for everything

By law you only have to pay for issues they can prove were caused by your mods. It is illegal to "void" a warranty and has been for years.

They can, however, deny you warranty if they can prove sufficiently that you raced it. If it broke while racing, you should be paying for it anyway.

As far as the tranny, if you drive it right, you should not be tearing it up, so replacing with stock should be fine.

And again, the car will not drive with a broken axle. I am curious to see what they say is wrong with the axle.

yeah, pretty sure i said that already.

yes, in theory they have to prove that your parts caused the failure.... but in reality, when you get to the dealer, they just tell you its no covered and to go "F" yourself. so what u gonna do then? call 1800 77 Scion? yeah, good luck. they'll just assign you an arbitration case, which will take MONTHS before you even have one hearing.

and even if u win arbitration, its not binding, so they can just appeal it and start the process all over.

u really wanna go thru all that?? when, u don't have to be a genius to know that if a kid is putting aftermarket parts (power adders like headers) on his car, chances are he is probably racing it. and when something that F'd up like your tranny going happens, there is little doubt as to the cause.

probably stripped your splines on the halfshaft so it is wiggling in the coupler and on a right turn the clicking you hear is the halfshaft being pushed in.

dude, u might as well cough up a little xtra for a trans u know isn't damaged. they're already going to have the subframe and trans dropped to get at the axle. it would really suck to pay for all that labor, then have your trans go out, and have to go back and pay for all the labor all over again.

i'm still doubting the axle explanation, especially if the car drives. A bad axle wouldn't really cause vibrations like you described.

I would have to see you get the tranny completely out of the car without dropping the subframe. If you did get it out, you probably would have actually spent less time overall had you dropped the subframe. In my experience, trying to work around things typically takes much longer in the end. If you have ever worked on any part of a Quad 4, you know what I mean

I have to ask since I will be running NOS in the future. What size shot were you running? What brand?

Good luck to you in your repairs.
