what do i need to know before installing my intake? (injen)
i will be installing my injen intake tomorrow, and i was wondering if there is anything i need to know before i do it other than the instructions i am given, can i install without taking off the front bumper, and how long will it take? do i need to buy locite or anything else?
if it is like the k&n you need to take off the inside of the fender and the wheel. if you can reach all the little screws and have someone hold parts while you tighten them its pretty quick. probably less than an hour if you have ever done anything or looked around under the hood.
am about to install my injen in 2 hours once my engine cools off , but i think i will do the full cai, do i have to take off the front bumper, or can i go iun through the wheel well.
i need to remove the battery, engine cover i am guessing, and what else? i also bought some locktite for the bolts.
is there anything else i need to know?.
once its installed i need to let it sit for ten minutes running also correct?

kool, now i am done, so from the time i posted when i started, to about now i was outside working on it. a little over 3 hours working slowly. like he said you dont have to remove the bumper, just open up the wheel well, and you dont have to take it off. the hardest part is getting the cold air tube through the hole to mate with the other tube, i had to remove the rubber sleeves around the edges to get it through, and i put a couple of scratches on it, but i dont really care, its on there now, and i let it idle, and i will take it for a spin here in a minute.
i would recommend if you want to avoid scratches that you put a cloth or something similar around the cai part when you install it

kool the black does look nice, mine is also scratched mainly where you cant see it.
now after a test drive, it sounds good, it is a little harder to peel out, but it can be done and it feels like it accellerates a little quicker when in fifth gear. i didnt go crazy on it, but i drove 25 miles to check it out.
i do have one problem though,
my passenger side window will not roll down since i installed my intake from either switch
did this happen to anyone ?
what do i need to do to fix it?
why did it happen?
i am hoping it is just a fuse, but i will troubleshoot to find out tomorrow.
i dont want to take it into the dealership unless i absolutely have to, and since this occured when installing, would that affect the warranty?

my passenger window did the same thing. it only worked with the passenger switch. you just open it by holding the switch til its all the way down and then keep holding it for a few secs after it is down then go back up doing the same thing. do the same for the both windows and roof. mine all worked after that. i also had to turn the car off and restart it 2 times before that worked i think. stupid computers make simple thing difficult sometimes and it shows up in weird ways i guess.
kool i got mine to work at least from the passenger side switch, but i need to figure out how to get it to work from the drivers side cuz its kind of annoying. i will post if i find a solution
OK, here is what is going on. The windows have a safety feature built into them so that kids can't roll themselves up in them
(if the window motor undergoes stress it rolls back down
). You need to re-initialize the windows, as well as the sunroof, check it i bet it doesn't work! Do this for each of the windows/sunroof. Hold the switch in the close" position for about 10 seconds, then hold it "open" for like 10 seconds, and then back up again. You have to do this on the passenger door for the passenger window. What you are actually doing is telling the computer what is "all the way shut" and "all the way open". Once this is done you shouldn't have any problems and your auto-up/down feature should work as well. PM me if this does not work for you.
kool everything works like it used to, it took me a whille of turning it on and off to get the drivers passenger window switch to work, but everything is kool now, just do what he said and everything will be ok
