Default What modifications are needed for Auto w/ supercharger?

Seems to me the only thing in the way seems to be the automatic transmission dip stick. TRD said it needs some brakets. If you have any insight into this please let me know as I am about to try to get one of these to fit my automatic. Got to have the POWER NOW. The Injen cai rocks with the dc sports header and the trd muffler sounds good, but I want more power and I want it yesterday. If you can help. Post away.

The auto's longer gearing makes it a pretty solid choice for forced induction. The short gearing on the manual causes major wheel spin.

I wish i had a longer fourth gear to pull with the s/c.

But i wont even bash you why you want power so bad when you drive a auto.

I dont think anybody would know unless you go step by step using the TRD s/c install manual and see the difference and make note from their.

mayb he just wants a faster auto, get off his a$$. on mcgeorgeparts.com it says the the auto's will require an "auto fit kit" cost about $50 so i think that's all we'll need.

Default Have no choice in transmission... that said...

I have 2 tC superchargers TRD and realize that the automatic is not nearly as fun as the 5 speed. But my toy is an automatic. Therefore, from the best I can see the problem is the dip stick for the automatic transmission and location of the supercharger. I know that a kit will be out soon to retro-fit for the supercharger. I want it now and so I go back to my origonal post: Does anyone have any idea what exactly is involved with making the supercharger work on an automatic. I have header cai and TRD exhaust and am reasonably happy with what I have. Lowered with springs/ shocks replaced sway bar front and rear and 19" Enkei RPF1 rims (weight 18.7 lbs) and toyo proxes, strut tower brace. Want some more POWER. If anyone has any insight to this project, please share it.

Well, with the new release of the Electronic Shift Kit and valve body replacement for the auto from turboeast....the auto at the 1/4 mile will own. Ever drove an auto with a shift kit? Faster and harder shifts than a manual any day.

I read somewhere that TRD has plans to come out with an Auto version. I would like in my tC too. SO what if he wants more power in an Auto. Why would anyone want to get more power in a manual silverstreak??

ur right 05-rs1, i apologize for thread hijacking... I would also like to find out more about that electronic shift control... I just hate when someone asks a legitimate question, and then someone completly makes fun of them for no reason. That type of interaction does not make me proud to be a member of scionlife

Hrmmm, ok, the transmissions shift points are controlled by the ECM too right? Think they are gonna change any of the shift points etc with the ECM reflash that comes with the SC kit? Something to think about...

Enough with the Enzos, lambos, and M5s (cars most of us cant afford anyway) and back on topic please. I was also looking at getting an auto tC and i was wondering what else would be needed to make the SC work too. I know its only been about 2weeks since its release but any info known would be great.

Please no more Auto vs. manual debate. That's not the question at hand in this thread.

Thank you.

Talked to my TRD rep. said no go with auto right now. They have to reprogram car to run properly. Electronic transmission will NOT shift right that is why the manual is out right now. That is the best I can find out at this time. They said DO NOT USE supercharger with an Automatic trans, as it would be "A HORRIBLE MISTAKE". So if anyone does have any suggestions --Post away I'm all ears.

Searching for a TRD supercharger fix for an AUTO TRANS

Yikes

So in other words they are looking to reprogram the tranny computer to shift differently. ScionDad this could be what you were looking for.
