HEY!

I am 100% new. Dealership JUST received my tC!!! I was just wondering from your experience what options should i order from them? I was thinking the Short throw shifter, exhuast, fog lights, and maybe the ground effects. I've read many contradicting posts about the TRD springs and shock/strut set. You think it's worth getting them or should i just go aftermarket?

ALL suggestions welcome! help a newbie out!

I'd say unless you're planning on AutoX'ing, the TRD suspension stuff should be fine. I wouldn't bother with the TRD exhaust, all bark no bite. Wish I'd a gotten the factory lip kit, looks great. Don't really like the look of the fogs, get aftermarket.

I would go with only the fog's and the ground kit. the TRD shifter is way overpriced (TWM and Creative compacts are a much cheaper solution). the TRD suspension is very overpriced now. It's close to $600 just for the parts alone, not sure what the dealers are talking now. Anyhow, for $700, you can get Tein Basic Coilovers (struts/springs in one unit). trust me when I say that is a much better setup than the TRD's. On the other hand, you can't very well roll the Tein's into your financing, so that is a downside to them.

 

Personally, out of the things you mentioned, I would just get the ground effects kit and fog lights. Drive around with the stock shifter first, and then get the short shifter. That way you will actually know/appreciate the difference. The exhaust can be purchased online for about $360, and it is very easy to install.

I don't have any experience with the TRD suspension personally, but I can tell you that your car will handle better than stock, and when you sell it, it doesn't look like an aftermarket mod since it's a dealer option. That, of course, helps with the resale value.

 

told them to put on the quick shifter, ground effects, pedals, and rear sway bar. (theyre only chargin me like 300 for it installed). Anyone suggest anything else??

How do people feel about the bazooka 10" sub? anyone have it? is it worth it? I have a box w. 2 12s, but i dunno if i wanna install an amp just yet. does the factory head unit even come with a remote wire connection to turn an amp on? ... sorry this is in the wrong forum... back to performance mods...

does anyone know of the performance clutch that the dealer is offering? i still dont know whether i should get the TRD Exhaust. I'm lookin for sound as well as a lil performance. suggestions for exhaust? also, the dealer said they still arent offering the AEM CAI. anyone know why?

I should have the car hopefully by friday or saturday... but knowin dealers it'll probably be like two weeks....
