Default what S-Pipe you guys have??-->how's it working??

Actually I dont know all the brands of s-pipes out there, just some. But to anyone with s-pipe installed on their car--> what brand do u have?--what combination do u have with the s-pipe?--any difference?--does it make your car louder?--more HP/TQ/faster/dynoed it??--and lastly, whatever u wanna say bout it.

Thanks!

Its a supporting mod that may add a few HP but its nothing significant. If you dont already have an intake and header, do those first...or put the money towards a short shifter or an engine damper which will give you much more usable perforamnce.

I have the CC s-pipe with the AW header and I noticed a little difference but nothing major. I had a minor leak at the donut gasket that was easily fixed with some copper gasket maker.

Food for thought:

Crush bends can reduce flow by up to 30%. The stock pipe is bent using crush bends. Since the s pipe is an "S" pipe, there are two crushed bends that each limit the airflow by as much as 30%. Also, since the characteristics of these bends usually entail a large portion, a narrow crushed portion and a large portion, having two of these bends right next to eachother results in a path that goes large to narrow, turn, large, narrow, turn, large. This is a pretty excruciating path for exhaust to traverse.

you do not have to have a header..

i recently put a Megan racing s-pipe on my stock auto with no mods...

i did feel some gains, and the car seems to get louder in higher RPM's, nothing much during idle and lower RPM's. install was easy, and you do not have to take off your header...and eric, what do you mean you had a leak?

NO it shouldnt make it any louder. Of course you wont get any gains in HP from it either. I'm using stock header and CC spipe, ZPI mid pipe, and TRD axel back and I love the way it sounds and feels. I had the spipe on with the axel back for about a month before i added the mid pipe and it really didnt make any difference.

so are there any real differences between the CC and the ZPI s-pipes? I've recently come into a little bit of money and want to open up the intake and exhaust. I want to get an injen intake, alphawerks header, some s-pipe, a custom midpipe w/ 2 resonators welded in (i cant stand rasp, loud is fine, just not rasp), and then some catback. Besides the s-pipe question, what would be a decent axleback that has a decent tone to it but not obnoxious?

okay bro, i am talking from personal expieirience, i know what i hear when i push it...and you will get the same gains from an s-pipe as you would an axle-back..

and i have raced a stock tC with an axle back...and umm, he lost to me. both of us were auto, so ?

and for my exhaust system.. i plan to do this:
AW headers, MR s-pipe, custom 2.5inch mandrel bent exhaust with 1 30inch resonator, and a Apexi WS2 muffler.

I'm running ZPI s-pipe. It's good, not too much louder and some small performace gains. I should be getting my midpipe put on with two 14" resonators in it today and I'll put a review up on it and maybe some sound clips if I can.

Midpipe from ZPI. There's a clip of an alphawerks headers with no cats and the same resonators I'll be using and TRD axle-back in the naturally aspirated section.

OR how about just cuztomize it, from cat all the way down to exhaust-->2.5" for N/A maybe. Tell your shop thats doing it, to make it as straight out as possible(not too much bend) so it doesnt restrict the flow. Cuz i asked for a price check from one of our exhaust shop here, it actually cost less to do this ($150).

Now my question.....Do aftermarket pipes weigh LESS, compare to the exhaust shop pipes??--what difference are there??...not that much.

you can actually get a resonator at any local muffler shop. just give them a call and they should have different sizes
