what wears the clutch?
when i change gears from like 2nd to 3rd and i dont smoothly release the clutch so that it slightly shakes, does that wear my clutch? also what are some things that wear your clutch... does stalling wear your clutch?
everytime you use it it will wear. and yes not shifting smoothly between gears will put more wear on it. haha, i thought you'd know, especially since you had a z32...why would you sell your z32!!

Excess weight, e.g. 400 pounds of stereo equipment in addition to you always in the car.
resting your foot on the clutch while driving
dumping/popping it
The nice thing is that the motor is very torquey so you don't need a lot of motor to get it rolling from a stand-still, so the clutch should last longer than one in say a Civic....all else being equal.

Stop and go driving--especially up hills wears out clutches fast. So does riding the clutch as 2_MUCH_TC posted. I needed a new clutch in my MR2 at 75,000 miles and again at 150,000. I wore out the clutch in my s10 pickup at about the same. It varies by driver. When the clutch goes out in my xB I am going to upgrade it to a stronger design.
the xB clutch is weak by design, lots of people have been complaining that it slips in 3rd gear etc
you wear out a clutch by not driving stick properly. if you slowly let out the clutch and give it lots of gas each time you start off, you will wear it out.
if you hold up the car on hills instead of using your brakes...thats horrible to do
driving like a dick and dropping it at 3000 rpm at every light will do it
also, make sure to rev-match your downshifts
i think my clutch will last till about 75000 miles, because i learned how to drive stick on this car
usually a good driver can get the clutch to last the life of the car

My problem was too much HP
. Stock clutch slipped like a ****, and my aftermarket clutch disc spit the springs out on me. I'm running a unsprung clutch disc now. It chatters a bit on take off, but I'm used to it now

you know what i just thought of, so called power shifting or double clutching. that will mess up the clutch. i had a friend "do" that, and he smelled clutch for days. then, he called me asking me if i had a hook up on clutches... oh well....

it puts more strain on the tranny and engine. i wouldn't do it all the time
i start off in second sometimes during the winter, because the wheels won't spin as much
