Alright guys, I was on youtube and found this video of some scions and what not....and right at 2:00 mins in of the video......this air intake really caught my eye...my question is what the hell is it, and why is it so big?

 

It's carbon fiber. Carbon fiber styles tend to be bigger, bubblier and bulkier because that is the way the air works the best for those. They aren't popular in the Scion game, but they are elsewhere. It won't give you any advantage over any other ones offered, it just the looks that you might be after that would be the difference.

I have an Injen CAI now and I like stuff out of the ordinary...and every scion I look at they all have an Injen CAI and it doesn't catch my eye like it first did, but this thing is really cool and thank for the info! I will try asking that guy some more questions about it.

 

I called them a few days after that Video came out and they said they couldn't release when it would be out. That has been nearly a year ago.

 

No, it's not because that's what "work best for those" (carbon fiber intakes.) It's simply to make it bigger because it is C/F, and in the rice world C/F=awesome regardless.

For an intake to be effective it has to be straight forward, not large and useless.
